Formula Bharat is the Indian Formula Student competition, where student teams from universities across the world design, build, and compete with their own Formula-style vehicles.
Held annually since 2017, Formula Bharat challenges engineering students to go beyond textbooks by applying their technical knowledge, innovation, and management skills to build high-performance vehicles under real-world constraints.
Formula Bharat is an international stage, and South Asia’s only Official Formula Student Event, the one that sets the standard, inspires a generation of engineers, and aligns India with global automotive engineering excellence.
Formula Bharat on the Global Stage
As India’s flagship Formula Student competition, Formula Bharat is listed on the World Ranking List, placing it among elite global platforms such as Formula Student Germany, Formula Student United Kingdom, and Formula Student Austria.
Indian teams that perform well at Formula Bharat are recognized globally, many of whom go on to represent India and win accolades at other international Formula Student events.
The Competition
Students build a single-seater, Formula-style car to compete against teams from across the globe. But this international competition is not won solely by the fastest vehicle, but victory goes to the team that presents the best overall package in terms of build, performance, cost effectiveness, and business strategy.
Static Events
Dynamic Events
In addition to the static events, the on-track performance of the vehicles will be put to test during the Dynamic events. The dynamic event test assesses the car’s capabilities in terms of maximum longitudinal and lateral acceleration, race performance, efficiency, and endurance.
