Formula Bharat is an engineering design competition in which student teams from post-secondary institutions compete with a life-size, Formula-style vehicle in areas such as engineering design, cost, business logic, and on-track dynamic performance. Intake Process:
- Step 1: Fill the Application Form. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their area of knowledge, skills, experience, etc.
- Step 2: Course Completion and Evaluation [Based on Rules, Event & Document related content, Bias training, rubric & scoring, etc.]
- Step 3: Final Selection based on Course Evaluation (step 2).
Note: All of the steps outlined above are mandatory.
About Engineering Design Judging event:
The Engineering Design event will be split into two rounds. The preliminary judging round, followed by the finals that will be held at the competition site. Only a selected few teams will move into the finals. For more information about this event, refer to the FB2026 Rules Booklet.
Responsibilities:
- ake the online course (details will be provided to shortlisted candidates) and clear the virtual evaluation.
- Attend the Virtual Training and Orientation
- Works under EV Design Lead and Rules Lead.
- Review and score design documents of teams assigned in your design judging group, prior to the Q&A Sessions.
- Review and score (DSS, EDP).
- Participate as a Judge at the FB2026 Event.
- Design Judges are required to question students on their vehicle’s design elements, testing programs and reasoning.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to students during the course of competition.
- Collaborate with other judges to determine finalists and teams’ final scores.
- Compile review and feedback of above documents.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate,
- Previous Formula Student Design judging experience, or Design reporting experience highly recommended.
- 3+ years of industry-related design experience in specific section of vehicle required. Sections include and are not restricted to, EV Powertrain, Tractive System Energy Storage (Battery Pack) , Accumulator Management System, Electric Motor and Motor Controller, Vehicle Supervisory Controller, Torque Control, LV Battery, Thermal Management and Cooling, etc.
- Good command of the English language is required.
- Individual must be detail-oriented and meticulous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the automotive and/or electric vehicle industry is an asset.
