Intake Process:
- Step 1: Fill the Application Form. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their area of knowledge, skills, experience, etc.
- Step 2: Course Completion and Evaluation [Based on Rules, Event & Document related content, Bias training, rubric & scoring, etc.]
- Step 3: Final Selection based on Course Evaluation (step 2).
Note: All of the steps outlined above are mandatory.
About Cost and Manufacturing Event Judging:
The objective of the cost and manufacturing event is to evaluate the team’s understanding of the manufacturing processes and costs associated with the construction of a prototype race car. This includes trade off decisions between content and cost, make or buy decisions and understanding the differences between prototype and mass production.
Responsibilities:
- Take the online course (details will be provided to shortlisted candidates) and clear the virtual evaluation.
- Attend the Virtual Training and Orientation
- Review cost documents of teams assigned in your cost judging group, prior to the competition.
- Participate as a Judge at the Cost Judging event.
- Cost judges are required to review reports and documentation provided by the student teams and you will assess its accuracy against the actual vehicle. You will then decide with your cost group on the scores and penalties the team will receive.
- Provide feedback to students on their vehicle’s design elements, during the course of competition.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate,
- Previous Formula Student Cost judging experience, or Cost reporting experience with FSG Rules.
- 2+ years of Industry-related design experience in specific section of vehicle, preferred. Sections include and are not restricted to, engine, drivetrain, tractive system, chassis, aero, ergonomics, suspension, steering, composites etc.
- Previous Formula Student Volunteering Role would be considered under Industry Experience Requirement.
- Manufacturing and Production experience.
- Knowledge of carbon footprint calculations.
- Good command of the English language is required.
- Individual must be detail-oriented and meticulous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Past Formula Student experience is an asset.
